Sewing Classes in Pasadena!!!

Please call or email to reserve the class you'd like. Its best to reserve at least 5 days before class and there will be a $20 deposit required via credit card but i will NOT charge until the the date of class. If you need to cancel please give at least 2 days notice to not be charged the $20 deposit fee. If you miss or cancel on the day of class i will have to charge you the $20 deposit, sorry.



Level 1 – Never touched a machine or have threaded a needle?
Level 2 – Have some working knowledge of sewing terms and machines. You can sew a straight line, hand sew a button, or hem a pant.
Level 3 – You can sew any simple item without help, read patterns and you just want to further your skills or do projects with others.
Kids – Minimum age must be at least 8 years old (must be accompanied by an adult if younger than 13)

Here’s a list of what you will learn:

-Read fabric grain lines
-Thread a machine
-Sewing exercises to sew curved and straight lines
-Curved seams
-Binding
-Straps
-Overlock/Serger
-Elastic set in
-Shirring
-Miter corners
-How to cut bias tape and attach 2 ends together
-Setting in a regular zipper
-Hand sew a button

What you need to bring:
- Basic sewing kit


Now that you know the basics of sewing, let's make a utility tote together. You will need to know the skills from Basic Sewing Part 1 for this class. We will provide a screen printed natural colored cotton canvas for this project.

What you need to bring:
- Basic sewing kit, your own fabric if you don’t like ours (about 1 ½ yards to be safe, pre-washed if you plan on washing it later)

We will provided printed cotton canvas fabric to make your choice of a throw pillow OR set of 4 coasters.

Learn how to hem pants/skirts, take in the body width of almost anything and shorten sleeves with cuffs. This class works best if you bring in something of yours that you’d like to alter.

What you need to bring:
- Please bring at least 2 different options just incase one is not a simple alteration.

This is a simplified version of the Basic Sewing Part 1 and a great way to introduce kids to the art of sewing. In this class they will learn to sew a tote bag using basic sewing skills.

These tools can be purchased at the store at 10% off if you are enrolled in a class.
The basic sewing kit should consist of:

- Fabric shears
- Tape measure
- Glass or stainless steel headed pins
- Tailors chalk
- 2” transparent ruler
- Seam ripper
- Thread snippers
- Hand sewing needle
- Your choice of fabric if you don’t like what we are offering (if you bring your own fabric and other notions you need for that specific class you do not have to pay $5 material fee)
