Mural from Domestic Violence Shelter

Late this summer, a team went to a domestic violence shelter to paint a mural along a staircase wall leading up to the case management room. The goal was to make the women feel at peace and help the children of some of the women be comfortable in this new environment. In what had seemed like a cold and maybe even sterile place, our Visual Arts team helped create a safe haven that was solace for those leaving tormented homes.

If you are interested in being a part of these service teams, please contact Tammy at tammy@mosaic.org.

Hey Photographer...

Some colleagues and I are putting together a Silent Photography Auction with Mosaic and Awaken Humanity.

This will be held to specifically raise money and awareness for the work being done through these organizations in Africa.

This year's theme is "Beauty in Unexpected Places".

The silent auction will run alongside Mosaic's Annual Christmas show, which is seen by over 500 people.

Open call for submissions!

Please email a jpg, at least 5x7 in size to: hank@mosaic.org or hankfortener@gmail.com

Subject line: Photography Auction Submission.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE 11/15/08

Dates of the Show: December 6th and 13th

NOTE: We are specifically looking for images that are on more of a travel, cultural, fine art theme. Remember, these are for auction.

Kindly keep in mind that the potential bidder will be looking to hang your artwork in their home. Thanks.

If your image has been picked, you will be notified via email and be requested to submit the larger file size to go to print.
