OPEN CALL: Submissions for Art and Photography for Hope in the City 2010
Friend and artist:
On behalf of Mosaic Visual Arts, I am personally inviting you to be one of the artists to be featured in the 3rd annual Hope in the City art gallery. The silent auction will run alongside Mosaic's HOPE IN THE CITY fashion show and art collaboration, which will be attended by hundreds of people. Proceeds from the art auction will go towards the relief effort in Haiti as we strive to bring them hope during these trying times.
So what can you do?
Create an original piece of art and/or submit a photograph that represents the theme of Hope in the City: Wear Your Story. This could relate to “the city”, what brings you hope, or even an image that gives a glimpse of your story or someone’s story of hope. Kindly keep in mind that the potential bidder will be looking to hang your artwork in their home.
For Photography, please email a jpg, at least 5x7 in size to: invertedfreedom@hotmail.com
Subject line: Photography Auction Submission.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY: 03/12/10
If your photo is chosen, you will be notified via email and be requested to submit the larger file size to go to print.
The team is able to pay for printing and framing.
For non-photographic art, please e-mail invertedfreedom@hotmail.com to coordinate a time to collect your work.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR NON-PHOTOGRAPHIC ART: 03/14/10
Please note, we can also pick them up from you at the Mayan or Pasadena gatherings.
Artwork will be displayed in the gallery and in the show booklet, “Behind the Seams”. Again, all proceeds go directly to Beyond US and their ongoing work in Haiti.
Date of the Show: Wednesday, March 24th from 7-10pm
@ Vibiana (210 S. Main St., Downtown Los Angeles).
Please contact Evan Stookey at invertedfreedom@hotmail.com or (719) 432-8349 if you have any questions or concerns.
